Assistant Legal Cashier

Mitchells Roberton are looking to recruit a full time Legal Cashier into our long established Glasgow City Centre based practice. The successful candidate will be joining a busy cash room and will be responsible for ensuring the firms compliance with the Law Society Accounts Rules.  Previous experience of working in a legal cashroom is desired as is the ability to work in a close team.

As a member of the team your main tasks will include fast and efficient processing of a high volume of banking payments; the accurate input of entries to our accounts system; timely allocation of funds received; liaising with fee earners to ensure all funds are allocated; processing firm and client invoices; preparing cheques for banking; reconciling petty cash; and filling of bank statements.

The successful candidate should have strong IT skills as they will be required to work extensively with online banking platforms (CB Online, RBS Bankline) as well as frequent use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Experience with a legal accounts system is essential.

The individual should be confident, organised, have strong communication skills and have the ability to cope under pressure with a high volume of transactions. The role may be suited to a individual at the beginning of their career and looking to gain further experience in cashiering work with the desire to work towards a SOLAS qualification.

Starting salary will depend upon experience.
