Morag Inglis – Consultant
Morag graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 1984. She commenced her traineeship with Mitchells Roberton in 1985 becoming the first female Partner in the firm in 1993. After many years in her role as the Managing Partner, Morag became the first female Chairman of Mitchells Roberton in April 2021.
As from 1 April 2025 Morag handed over the reins as Chairman of the firm to her brother Ronald Inglis and she is now a part time consultant.
Morag started the process of stepping back from much of her client work and introducing her clients to her many capable and willing colleagues when she took up the role of Chairman but as many know she has continued to be involved in hands on client and transactional work. That will carry on being the case for ongoing work.
As a Consultant, Morag will not take on new client and transactional work but will remain involved, interested and available (if a little less available) as her large client base get to know her very able colleagues.
For much of her legal career Morag specialised in areas of commercial practice and has acted for a wide range of clients in property disposals, acquisitions, leases and in offering a variety of business and general contract advice.
Morag’s large client base meant she also got involved in all sorts of issues including residential conveyancing and private client work in the fields of wills, powers of attorney and winding up estates.
As a Consultant, Morag will continue to be passionate about passing on her excellent skill of providing a holistic approach to problem solving always looking at the wider picture, supporting her colleagues in preserving and strengthening the Mitchells Roberton special ethos and caring culture.
Morag loves walking, reading, music and spending time with family, friends and Fergus, a miniature dachshund. In her new role she plans to do more of that and has all sorts of ideas about what she might do with her new found free time.
