David graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 1972 and joined our firm as it was then, Mitchells Johnston Hill and Hoggan, as an apprentice becoming a Partner in 1978. In addition to his role as a private client practitioner he is Collector and Clerk of the Merchants House of Glasgow, a charitable institution rooted in the traditions of the merchants of the City of Glasgow. The benevolence of the House extends to making grants to a variety of charitable bodies including Erskine, East Park Home, the Citizens Theatre and many others. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Scottish Branch) the aim of which is to promote the use of arbitration and mediation as an alternative means of dispute resolution.
Further, David is the Registrar of the Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway in the Episcopal Church of Scotland. In his spare time he enjoys music, attempting to play the piano and jogging.
