Paul Neilly – Partner

After 10 years studying and working in the financial services industry, Paul sought a career in law. In 2006, he joined Mitchells Roberton as a trainee, becoming Partner in 2015.

Principally involved in civil litigation, Paul advises on a wide range of issues, including contract disputes, landlord and tenant issues (commercial and residential) and debt recovery. He regularly appears in the Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland and has advised clients in cases in the Court of Session and the Supreme Court.

His level-headed approach to identifying practical and affordable resolutions to disputes is greatly valued. He also has a particular interest in Incapacity Law and acts as Financial Guardian for many individuals.

Paul is keenly aware of the need to keep step with developments in the law and legal education and is a strong advocate of the role of technology in the legal sector.

He was elected as a member of the Council of the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow in 2021.

In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, cooking and spending time with his wife and young family.
