Trainees – Who Would Have Them? We Would

At this very moment we have two trainees at Mitchells Roberton and view the employment of trainees as part of our investment in the future of the firm.

During the two year period of their traineeship, each trainee will work in four different departments spending six months in each of the Residential Conveyancing Department, Private Client Department, Commercial Conveyancing Department and the Court Department. Our aim is to develop talented staff who can offer sound legal advice and practical solutions.  We also hope to further our trainees’ abilities to listen carefully to clients, to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, to work as members of a team and to deal with people who are often going through emotionally difficult times.  We also aim to increase their commercial awareness and enhance their time management skills.

Trainees are an important part of life at Mitchells Roberton with our managing partner Morag Inglis joining the firm as a trainee, straight from University. Ronald Inglis, Ross Leatham and Paul Neilly three more partners of the firm started their legal careers as trainees here. Kathryn Bready and Heather Warnock both now Associates also were trainees with us.

We would also like to congratulate Marcus Downie who has just completed his traineeship and will be staying on as a fully qualified solicitor working in both our Commercial Property and Litigation Departments.  We are delighted to have him.
